TW: White supremacy and violence

Ohio Women’s Alliance stands in solidarity with the AAPI community amidst the recent xenophobic attacks against Asian women in Atlanta.

Violent white supremacy is not new. It is in the air we breathe, the systems we exist in and the very foundation of this country. We must disrupt and dismantle white supremacy at its root and work together for collective liberation.

Increased policing is not the answer. We know that the police do not protect Black and brown bodies. We must look to community solutions, so we call for deep investment in our own places and spaces and divestment from those that seek to harm us. WE will keep us safe.

Resources

Please support and uplift the work of our partners at Ohio Progressive AAPI Women’s Leadership (OPAWL) and their ongoing community and powerbuilding.

This conversation is not over when this incident dies down from the news cycle. We are committed to long term collective liberation for all and we hope you will be a part of that work.

In solidarity,

The Ohio Women's Alliance team
