Disability Voting Rights
This Disability Voting Rights Week, OWA joins organizations across the country to ensure that folx with disabilities know: Voting is a right, and our vote is powerful. Over 38 million people with disabilities are eligible to vote, but discrimination, inaccessible voting processes, and exclusion from democracy lead to a turnout gap between voters with and without disabilities. OWA advocates for an inclusive political process and policies that directly impact our lives. Voting is a fundamental right, and we will never stop working to protect our freedom to vote.
This Disability Voting Rights Week, we are ensuring communities are registered and ready to vote and have access to the ballot. In 2022, millions of differently-abled people will cast their ballots in elections across the country, impacting access to health care, financial security, living in a safe community, and so much more.
