Siema Eljack
Siema Eljack, is a dual degree student of Master of Social Work and Public Policy and Management at the Ohio State University.
Siema graduated with a DMD from Tufts University in 2003 and had been a practicing dentist and oral pathologist since. After working as an Arabic interpreter to Iraqi refugees in Columbus, Siema decided to pursue a career change and go into Social Work and Counseling. Health disparities and impediments to access to mental health care for BIPOC are her main areas of interest.
Siema is a first-generation immigrant from Sudan and a mother of four. Her experience as an immigrant African Muslim woman has shaped her values and made her more empathetic to the plight of others.
Siema is also an ACE-certified personal trainer who is a genuine believer in the impact of exercise on mental health.
