Ohio Rising Launch

Ohio Rising is a fiscally sponsored project of the Ohio Women’s Alliance that prioritizes the development of young leaders in middle school, high school, and in their early twenties. Community engagement events include activism speakouts, healthcare education and outreach, after-school social justice clubs, and our first-ever weekend summer camp on July 31-August 1!

On June 29, our beautiful, talented youth came out to show the community what resistance, joy, and embodied practice looks like through a talent showcase.

The event was hosted at Beyond the Brix in Columbus. We celebrated our creative, dimensional, beautiful youth and their talents. The Ohio Rising Youth Showcase helped to create education and outreach for the youth power building summer program. The Showcase centered the art expression of youth, their vision for a more inclusive community, and uplifted their talents. Additionally, the youth showcase consisted of a fashion and talent show to empower youth. At Ohio Women’s Alliance, we believe that the more we support and create space and opportunity for youth to be their true authentic self, the more we don't have to speak for our children and the more they can speak for themselves.
