She got her start in politics as a volunteer for Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign, registering students to vote while attending the University of Dayton. She also helped with fieldwork and canvassing for the campaign in the Northwest neighborhoods of Dayton, OH, contributing to Barack Obama winning Montgomery County by 52%.

As we approach both Election Day and the deadline to be counted in the 2020 Census, many organizations across Ohio are working hard to ensure that their members and the people they serve have all of the resources necessary to both vote and be counted. The Columbus(OH) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is one of these organizations.

This includes removing police from schools. On June 5th, a group of Columbus City School alumni drafted a letter asking the CCS Board of Education to terminate their contract with the Columbus Police. They gave the board 72 hours to respond and ultimately protested at the curb of the Board President's home.
